This role supports the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and representing the brand with integrity and enthusiasm.

The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to lead day-to-day operations, including personnel management, training, customer service, merchandising, store operations, marketing, and display maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with store leadership to foster a positive, results-driven culture of sales and performance.
• Support a team-selling environment that benefits the Spring Step brand, associates, and customers.
• Participate in all aspects of store recruitment, focusing on retaining and developing top talent.
• Train, coach, and develop store associates within company guidelines.
• Manage performance and employee relations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Ensure proper merchandising of products per company directives and assist in executing marketing initiatives.
• Provide world-class customer service and instill a customer-first attitude within the sales team.
• Oversee store asset security through adherence to risk management policies, including daily bank deposits, opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and compliance with store balances.
• Drive a sales culture using incentives, effective communication, and consistent brand promotion.
• Use daily productivity targets to ensure appropriate staffing levels and communicate goals clearly to associates.
• Maintain loss prevention and security through strict adherence to risk management policies.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of prior retail experience in a sales-driven environment.
• Proven track record in sales and service execution.
• Proficiency with basic software and POS systems.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and climb an 8-foot ladder.
• Ability to stand for long periods and bend as necessary.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
