Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various areas including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the store team in providing excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing, setting goals, providing feedback, and hiring new team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution on customer service programs.
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours.
• Aid in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy and handle buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and friendly manner, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, changes, and deviations being approved by management, and team members clocking in/out correctly.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicles.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Requirements

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
• ASE Certification (Desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
