Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of the store, including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the store team, managing customer service levels, staffing the retail sales counter, assisting with hiring processes, and handling customer returns and exchanges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service.
• Supervise customer service levels and execute customer service programs.
• Adequately staff the retail sales counter during peak business hours.
• Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
• Support the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks and evaluating candidates.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Requirements

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (desired)
• ASE Certification (desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
