Assistant Store Manager
The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of the store, including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the team in providing excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing during peak hours, assisting in hiring processes, ensuring proper handling of returns and exchanges, and performing store opening and closing duties.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs.
- Avoid understaffing the retail sales counter during peak business hours.
- Aid in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
- Support the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
- Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Invoice merchandise, including core charges and warranties.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks.
- Maintain compliance with company policies regarding adherence to the posted work schedule, changes, and team member clocking.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
- Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
- Certified Parts Professional Certification (desired)
- ASE Certification (desired)
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish (highly desired)
