Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various areas including sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Key duties include leading the store team in excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing, setting goals, providing feedback, and mentoring team members. The position also involves assisting with the hiring process, handling customer returns and exchanges, and performing store opening/closing duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs.
• Avoid understaffing the retail sales counter during peak business hours.
• Aid the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring team members stay current on training.
• Support the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies regarding adherence to the posted work schedule, approval of changes/deviations, and proper clocking in/out.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking/unlocking.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Requirements

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
• ASE Certification (Desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
