Assistant Store Manager
The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various areas including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the store team in excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing during peak times, assisting in hiring processes, ensuring proper handling of returns and exchanges, and performing store opening/closing duties.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs.
- Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing at the retail sales counter, especially during peak business hours.
- Aid in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring team members.
- Support the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy and handle buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to manage special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
- Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before products leave the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, approval of changes, and proper clocking in/out.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying and securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security measures are in place, and managing delivery vehicles.
- Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
- Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
- ASE Certification (Desired)
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish (Highly Desired)
