Assistant Store Manager
Essential Job Functions
Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc…).
Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late-afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and making sure team members are staying current on their individual training.
Aid in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
Avoid delays in processing buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders.
Process retail customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and friendly manner, issue refunds accurately using the correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, approval of changes/deviations by a member of management, and proper clocking in/out by team members.
Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits according to company policy, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicle(s) parked in a secure designated area.
Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
- Certified Parts Professional Certification
- ASE Certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
