About the role
We are seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager who embodies enthusiasm, energy, friendliness, and hard work. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional selling and customer service, enhance store productivity and profitability, and serve as a leader within the store.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a welcoming shopping environment.
- Build and share expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs tailored to diverse shopper needs.
- Support store management and the team, helping customers find the perfect gifts and solutions.
- Share stories and communities of care to reinforce the cycle of kindness.
- Handle store operations efficiently, including product replenishment, merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling online orders, and assisting with curbside deliveries.
- Deliver an exceptional shopping experience that inspires, enables, affirms, and encourages guests to return.
- Work collaboratively to meet store sales goals by ensuring each customer leaves satisfied and excited about their purchases.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior retail experience, sales, or customer service.
- Aged 18 or older.
- Able to open and close the store a minimum of three (3) times per week, and work two (2) weekend shifts per month.
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs, including events, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to operate a computer and other technology.
- Desire and ability to learn the business.
- Access to store cash and products, and accountability for maintaining accurate records and/or deposits.
- Ability to assist in training new employees and understanding new policies, operational changes, and/or training initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in specialty retail, sales, or customer service.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Continuous standing/walking, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, utilizing fine finger movement, tactile/touch, grasping/gripping/holding, balancing on uneven surfaces, lifting and/or carrying up to 40 pounds, reaching overhead, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds, sitting/remaining in a seated position, communicating with customers, co-workers, vendors, speaking, hearing, and sight.
Employment Status
This is a regular, full-time, hourly position that is deemed “non-exempt” by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), typically working 40 hours per week.
