Assistant Store Manager
About the role
With over 430 retail stores worldwide, our Store Leadership Teams are essential to our business. They ensure effective store operations, strategies, and procedures, guide and develop team members, and help create memorable customer experiences while supporting the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to store staff, including supervisors and associates.
- Execute and support plans to enhance employee productivity and performance.
- Aid the Store Manager in interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching staff, as necessary.
- Offer coaching and direction on a day-to-day basis to ensure staff performance standards are met.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels through effective replenishment, organization, shrink control, and communication.
- Aid the Store Manager in developing and implementing action plans to address any issues relating to store sales, goals, safety, training, and personnel development.
Requirements
- No specific education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position or specialization.
- Ability to operate a Point of Sales (POS) system, other in-store computerized systems, and telephone.
- Use judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
- Effective communication skills; able to exchange ideas and information with the store leadership team, associates, and consumers.

- Ability to communicate clearly with others.
- Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Pay and Schedule
- PAY RANGE: $24.45 - $36.67
- EXPECTED PAY RANGE FOR HIRE: $24.45 - $32.60
- PAY DECISIONS ARE DETERMINED BY MULTIPLE FACTORS, INCLUDING WHAT THE MARKET IS PAYING, A CANDIDATE’S CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, AND INTERNAL EQUITY.
