Assistant Store Manager – 7 For All Mankind, San Marcos Premium Outlets

About the Role

As a leader on the Store Management Team, the Assistant Store Manager’s key role is to ensure the highest level of customer engagement and sales results. The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with all aspects of day-to-day store operations, including driving sales, providing an exceptional customer experience, recruiting top talent, and coaching and developing the team.

In partnership with the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager ensures all company policies, procedures, corporate directives, and initiatives are enforced and implemented within deadlines while maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to overall store success by ensuring sales goals are met while achieving individual sales targets.
• Assists the Store Manager with day-to-day store management; in their absence, assumes responsibility for all daily operations.
• Delivers exceptional customer experiences and drives sales by styling and wardrobing customers based on their needs.
• Represents the brand and ensures team members embody it in all customer and peer interactions.
• Builds client relationships and drives sales through outreach and brand excitement.
• Communicates effectively with the Store Manager regarding individual goals, skill development, employee relations, and daily operations.
• Assists with training, coaching, developing, and motivating the team to maximize sales productivity.
• Ensures store operations, policies, and procedures are followed and enforced.
• Assists with recruiting top talent to meet business needs and retains talent that contributes to sales growth.
• Manages payroll and store scheduling within guidelines to ensure proper coverage based on business needs.
• Supports and executes directives from Visual Merchandising, Operations, and Marketing, ensuring timely communication and completion of deliverables.
• Ensures Loss Prevention policies and procedures are followed and assists with financial/sales audits and inventories.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional sales experience in specialty or luxury retail.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Strong leadership ability and excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain high performance standards.
• High level of initiative and self-motivation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to operate a cash register while following cash handling procedures.

Special Physical and Mental Requirements

• Repetitive hand motion while operating a cash register or computer.
• Regular interaction with the public in a crowded and noisy store environment.
• Standing required for the entire work shift.
• Operation of office equipment (computers, phones, fax, scanner, copier).
• Must work weekend and night shifts.
• Ability to climb ladders as needed.
• Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional travel, including air and overnight travel, often with little advance notice.
