About the role
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in managing and developing the team, ensuring optimal customer experiences, and maintaining brand standards.
Responsibilities
30% Brand: Supervise and support the direction planning of associates to deliver exceptional client experiences, maximize sales/KPIs, and drive customer loyalty in assigned stores. Ensure all brand standards are met, including merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Resolve customer issues and anticipate customer demands.
30% People: Engage, train, and develop the team to achieve positive results. Recruit and hire associates, identify strengths and opportunities, and address them through coaching or counseling. Maintain positive associate relations, resolve concerns, and keep associates informed of relevant Company information. Build strong relationships with Store Manager peers and maintain consistent communication.
30% Operations: Ensure the execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Utilize digital strategies such as Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS). Manage inventory, payroll hours, and store opening/closing procedures. Follow company directives and complete projects on time.
10% Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensure the store environment is safe for associates and customers. Protect company assets by following inventory and cash control procedures. Analyze and utilize available reporting, tools, and technology. Ensure compliance with HAZMAT training and execution.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred
At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred
Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives
Effective communication with team and management
Scheduling availability to meet the needs of the business
Cosmetology license desirable, but not required
