About the Role
The Assistant Store Leader of Operations supports the Store Leader by directing activities to achieve store goals, including guest service, sales objectives, operating expenses, loss prevention, and merchandising presentation. You will drive associate and guest engagement while providing exceptional service, fostering a clean and well-maintained store environment, and developing top talent.
Responsibilities

- Fosters a guest-focused team environment by anticipating needs and driving volume
- Achieves excellent guest service by role-modeling company standards
- Provides timely feedback, rewards, and recognizes performance to drive retention
- Holds self and associates accountable for financial results and performance standards
- Manages conflict and coaches using company processes and guidelines
- Empowers associates through involvement in decision-making
- Develops associates by matching talent with tasks, delegating, and challenging results
- Fosters team commitment through support, relationship-building, and recognition
- Leads through change and adversity
- Makes hiring, promotion, and termination recommendations based on performance
Process
- Meets or exceeds store and individual goals, contributing to overall success
- Engages guests to create an exceptional shopping experience
- Co-leads floor sets and refresh management
- Manages scheduling, back-of-house organization, and shipment/product prep (steaming, hanging)
- Plans and manages merchandise markdowns
- Oversees supply orders, maintenance, cleaning, and inventory/damages
- Audits banking, loss prevention systems, and manages payroll
- Trains new associates on operational processes
- Controls workflow through planning and delegation
- Executes opening/closing procedures and adheres to loss prevention practices
- Communicates effectively with the executive team
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy boxes (up to 30 lbs)
Presentation
- Uses weekly reporting to track, analyze, and communicate business results
- Interprets Home Office communication through Store Leader/District Leader partnership
- Partners with Visual District Leader and Visual Assistant Store Leader on floorsets, window sets, and fixture placement
- Maintains brand aesthetic awareness and communicates relevance to the team
- Shares performance observations and feedback with the District Leader
Requirements
- 1 year of retail management experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, or squatting
- Occasional ladder climbing and frequent stair use, depending on location
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds regularly without assistance
