About the role
The Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office is currently accepting resumes for an Assistant Solicitor General.
Responsibilities
- Investigating and prosecuting misdemeanor crimes and Title 40 traffic violations
- Reviewing case files and ensuring that all relevant evidence has been secured, properly documented, and organizing files for efficient investigation, prosecution and disposition
- Interviewing lay, expert, and law enforcement witnesses
- Analyzing case files and making charging decisions
- Researching and writing motions and court orders
- Negotiating with opposing counsel
- Representing the State in Bench or Jury trials
- Other duties as assigned
Assignment may be in one of three divisions: trial line, jail court, or Recorders Court.
Qualifications
- Licensed member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
- Ability to multitask and work under occasionally stressful time constraints
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and leadership skills
- Commitment to serving the community and working with the public
