Assistant Softball Coach

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and retention of student-athletics who can be successful in an athletically and academically rigorous environment.
• Ability to develop the skills of athletes.
• Create a competitive schedule within budget parameters.
• Actively participate in fundraising strategies, oversee and balance the team's annual operating budget.
• Written and verbal communication skills are important, along with a deep understanding of supporting the whole student.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• College Coaching experience
• Demonstrated ability to recruit academically and athletically successful student-athletes
• Effective written, communication, and presentation skills

The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive liberal arts education, Division II athletics, and an appreciation for and commitment to the NCAA, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), and institutional culture. Along with coaching, the candidate will be assigned responsibilities in the Department of Athletics. The candidate will have experience creating campus and community support for the gymnastics programs and their athletes and continuing to build upon the tradition of competitive athletic programs. They will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment.
