About the role

Assists the Head Coach of the assigned athletic program with coaching duties, including scouting, recruiting, player development, workouts, practices, games, study hall, and off-season programs. Positions are on-site; after six months, some staff roles may qualify for hybrid work based on job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy. Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence, even when teaching online courses, in accordance with state law.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with coaching duties such as practices, games, scouting, recruiting, player development, conditioning, and off-season programs.
  • Represents the college with external individuals and organizations to advance the athletics program and community recreational offerings.
  • Maintains the athletic field, including mowing and trimming.
  • Collects and maintains student-athlete data for reports and program information.
  • Completes required Dallas College professional development training hours per academic year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher and two years of experience in a teaching/coaching environment, or a high school diploma and four years of directly related experience in teaching, tutoring, or training.
  • Understanding of NJCAA policies and philosophy.
  • Knowledge of and experience with sports equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to use computer technology for data access, record-keeping, report generation, and communication.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with Dallas College staff at all levels.
  • Experience providing effective customer service.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Subject to a criminal background check; some positions may require a fingerprint check.

Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Work may involve moving and lifting light to moderately heavy materials or equipment, requiring physical strength and agility. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with physical challenges.
