Assistant Soccer Coach - After School Program

Soccer Stars of NE Denver is hiring Assistant Coaches for our afterschool soccer program this fall at elementary schools in Green Valley Ranch, Commerce City, and Brighton. You must be 18 or older and pass a background check—required by our school partners with no exceptions.

About the role

You do not need soccer experience. A lead coach runs the session and teaches the soccer. Your job is focused on the kids: keeping your group together, assisting with bathroom trips, handling minor injuries, and supporting children who may be having a difficult day. If you're patient with six-year-olds, we can teach you the rest.

Schedule

• 2–3 afternoons per week, Monday through Friday
• Wednesdays start at 2:30 PM; all other days start at 3:15 PM
• 2 paid hours per day (4–6 hours per week)
• Season runs September 14 through mid-November (most schools: 8 weeks; one school: 9 weeks)
• Must commit to the full season—consistency for the kids is a priority

Pay

• $20 per hour, plus a $100 bonus upon completing the season
• Opportunity to advance to lead coach ($22–$25 per hour)

Responsibilities

• Run a small group of 8–10 kids alongside the lead coach
• Walk kids to the bathroom and back while staying within sight of the field
• Maintain headcounts at every transition
• Handle minor injuries, water breaks, and occasional emotional support
• Assist with checking every child out to an authorized adult at pickup
• Set up and pack down equipment

Requirements

• 18 years or older (no exceptions)
• Experience with elementary-age kids (childcare, camps, teaching, tutoring, babysitting, coaching, or parenting)
• Patient, calm, and comfortable leading a group of young children
• Available for scheduled afternoons (roughly 2:15 PM to 5:30 PM)
• Reliable transportation to schools in Green Valley Ranch (80249), Commerce City (80022), or Brighton (80601)
• Willing to work outdoors in cold weather (sessions run outside unless conditions are unsafe)
• Able to pass a background check
