About the Role

Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Quality Manager to join their Field Operations Team. This is a field/project-based position, requiring up to 100% travel to project sites across the United States and occasionally outside the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA but must adhere to Gray’s travel policy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities of the quality control program.
  • Attend project pre-construction meetings to discuss the QMS Program and review Lessons Learned with subcontractors.
  • Train team members in the use of the quality control program and support question resolution.
  • Perform administrative setup of projects within the quality program database and assist in database maintenance.
  • Ensure the quality program provides fair and effective monitoring of the organization’s overall quality.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections/audits to ensure quality controls are in place and report findings to the Project Team.
  • Inspect installations, products, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with contract documents and approved standards.
  • Verify manufacturer, fabricator, and installer qualifications are current and applicable.
  • Coordinate sampling of work and maintain jobsite test and inspection logs.
  • Create and maintain an approved Project Specific Quality Control Plan.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school with a minimum of three years of construction experience, OR a minimum of five years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector is highly desired.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
  • Visa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, and talking/hearing. Occasionally, it involves climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. The work environment is typically a normal office setting with moderate noise and controlled temperature/humidity. Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position indirectly manages subcontractors and has authority over overall quality on projects.
