About the role
Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager, MEP to join their Field Operations Team. This is a field/project-based position.
Responsibilities
- Studies specifications to assist in planning procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Aids the MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Aids in developing scopes of work for review and approval by the MEP Project/Site Manager.
- Aids in developing the MEP project schedule within the overall construction schedule.
- Prepares estimates for MEP self-performed work and assists in completing the project estimate.
- Aids in the coordination and management of all trades throughout the build process.
- Solicits prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for review and approval by the MEP Project Manager.
- Aids in the selection of qualified bidders and negotiates final prices.
- Aids in drafting subcontracts and purchase orders for review and approval by the MEP Project Manager.
- Aids in preparing various reports, such as cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
- Reviews all drawings, including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., and coordinates and maintains a current set at all times.
- Aids in pricing work, drafting changes and change orders for review by the MEP Project Manager.
- Aids in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.
- Schedules work, including subcontractors, determines materials, equipment, and tools needed, secures supply sources, sets up and closes out construction sites, and serves as the on-site Safety Officer when necessary.
- Communicates, implements, and enforces Gray’s safety program on site.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Overtime may be required.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
- An energetic, self-motivated individual with a passion for collaboration and professional development.
- The ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced, innovative work environment.
