About the role
Gray Construction is seeking an Assistant Site Manager, MEP to join their Field Operations Team. This is a field/project-based position.
Responsibilities
- Studies specifications to assist in planning procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Affords assistance in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for MEP Project Manager.
- Affords assistance in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project/Site Manager.
- Affords assistance in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
- Prepares estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and affords assistance in complete project estimate.
- Affords assistance in coordination/management of all trades throughout the build process.
- Solicits prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for review and approval by MEP Project Managers.
- Affords assistance in selection of qualified bidders and negotiates final prices.
- Affords assistance in drafting subcontracts and purchase orders for MEP Project Manager's review and approval.
- Affords assistance in the preparation of various reports, such as cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
- Reviews all drawings, such as P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., when they are issued to the field and coordinates and maintains a current set at all times.
- Affords assistance in pricing work, drafting changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager.
- Affords assistance in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.
- Schedules work, including subcontractors.
- Determines materials, equipment, and tools needed.
- Sets up and closes out construction site.
- Serves as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
- Participates in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program.
- Responsible for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Consults with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from MEP Project Manager.
- Establishes and maintains high safety and quality standards in accordance to company, industry standards, and job specifications.
- Ensures the company QMS program is used and maintained in accordance to company standards.
- Generates reports and traceability for continuous improvement.
- Communicates, implements, and enforces Gray’s safety program on site.
- Overtime may be required.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and a minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail applications.

Benefits
Gray offers a competitive salary range of $100K to 130K, depending on experience and qualifications.
