Assistant Site Manager (ASM), Asset Protection
Overview
As an Assistant Site Manager (ASM) of Asset Protection, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Wayfair’s people, property, and reputation. Reporting to the Asset Protection Site Manager, you’ll lead efforts to reduce shrink, uphold safety standards, and foster a secure, customer-friendly environment. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution—requiring analytical skills, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
What Does an ASM of Asset Protection Do?
Lead Asset Protection Strategies: Create and implement initiatives to minimize shrink, reduce risk, and support compliance through proactive programs and policies.
Conduct Investigations: Oversee investigations involving theft, fraud, safety incidents, and violations. Document findings and support next steps in collaboration with HR and leadership.
Ensure Safety & Compliance: Monitor adherence to physical security protocols, operational procedures, and emergency response practices across the store.
Train & Coach Teams: Deliver training to associates on safety, asset protection practices, and situational awareness. Support emergency preparedness efforts and regular drills.
Inspire High Standards: Lead by example and coach others on accountability, professionalism, and store-wide asset protection expectations.
Foster a Secure & Welcoming Environment: Promote safety while maintaining an inviting customer-first atmosphere.
Use Data & Tools to Drive Results: Leverage technology like CCTV, exception reporting, and inventory systems to monitor patterns, detect risks, and develop action plans.
Maintain Accurate Documentation: Record incidents, audits, investigations, and safety activities with thoroughness and discretion.
Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Store Leadership, HR, and Operations to align AP strategies with business goals and performance priorities.
Respond Quickly Under Pressure: Act with urgency and sound judgment when managing security incidents, safety hazards, or compliance issues.

Requirements
2+ years of asset protection or loss prevention experience, including 1+ year in a supervisory or team lead role.
Comfortable with POS systems, CCTV platforms, exception reporting tools, and inventory software.
Able to review data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements with confidence.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to deliver coaching and lead conversations at all levels.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
