Essential Job Functions

  • Assists the Site Coordinator in the supervision and coaching of instructor staff and volunteers
  • Provides on-the-floor leadership, modeling best practices in student engagement, classroom management, and curriculum delivery
  • Supports staff scheduling, timekeeping, and requesting substitute coverage when necessary
  • Facilitates small group staff meetings or check-ins in coordination with the Site Coordinator
  • Learns and leads program activities as needed, including academic support, enrichment, and recreation
  • Helps maintain accurate student attendance records and daily logs
  • Supports curriculum organization and assists in lesson planning preparation
  • Tracks and reports program supplies usage; assists in inventory and basic purchasing tasks under Site Coordinator’s direction
  • Maintains compliance documentation related to staff, students, and site safety
  • Serves as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Site Coordinator, ensuring consistent and effective communication with school administrators, faculty, parents, community partners, and Expanded Learning leadership to support program continuity, address concerns, and uphold site expectations
  • Provides regular updates to the Site Coordinator on student behavior, staff performance, and program operations
  • Serves as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Site Coordinator, ensuring consistent and effective communication with school administrators, faculty, parents, community partners, and Expanded Learning leadership to support program continuity, address concerns, and uphold site expectations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in expanded learning or youth development and supporting instruction or delivering activities in a structured group setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both youth and adults
  • Proactive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic digital tools
  • Flexible, team-oriented, child-focused, and passionate about making a difference in children's lives
  • Able to receive and implement constructive feedback
