STARK is seeking an Assistant Showroom Manager to support the leadership and daily operations of our Stamford showroom. This role combines sales leadership, operational oversight, and individual selling responsibilities. The Assistant Showroom Manager will coach and develop showroom staff, oversee the sales support function, ensure operational excellence, and actively manage a personal book of business. The ideal candidate is an experienced sales professional who enjoys leading people, building client relationships, and creating an exceptional showroom experience. Job Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Team Management Manage, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers and sales support professionalsProvide leadership for the sales support team, including order processing, quoting, sample coordination, and customer serviceHold regular team meetings to review business initiatives, sales performance, and company updatesFoster a positive, collaborative showroom culture while managing employee performance, coaching, and conflict resolutionPartner with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, performance management, attendance, and employee developmentReinforce company standards, product knowledge, and sales best practices through ongoing coaching Sales & Business Development Maintain and grow a personal portfolio of trade and retail clients while meeting individual sales goalsBuild and strengthen relationships with interior designers, architects, contractors, and retail clientsIdentify new business opportunities through showroom visits, presentations, networking, and outside sales activityAssist Account Managers with product selection, pricing, estimates, and discount approvals to help close businessDevelop account strategies based on customer activity and growth opportunitiesResolve client concerns professionally to ensure an exceptional customer experience Showroom Operations Oversee daily showroom operations to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional client serviceEnsure smooth handoffs between sales representatives and support staff for accurate order processing and timely fulfillmentIdentify and resolve operational bottlenecks within the sales-to-order pipelineServe as the liaison between Account Managers and the Processing Team to ensure consistent, timely order fulfillmentApprove vendor invoices and oversee showroom billing processesOversee rug transfers, sample management, memo returns, and showroom inventoryMaintain showroom merchandising standards and sample room organizationSupport logistics and internal problem-solving related to customer orders and operational issues Additional Responsibilities Promote STARK's culture and values throughout the showroomParticipate in company initiatives, training, and leadership meetingsPerform additional duties as assigned Job Requirements 2+ years of sales experience, preferably within flooring, carpet, luxury home furnishings, interior design, or a related industryPrevious experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team preferredDemonstrated ability to balance personal sales goals with leadership responsibilitiesStrong understanding of both trade (B2B) and retail (B2C) sales environmentsExcellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExperience building long-term client relationships and managing multiple prioritiesProficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and order management systemsBachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Interior Design, Business, or a related fieldLuxury sales experience and carpet or flooring industry experience are highly desirable Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Supplemental Benefits Great Paid Time Off Policy 401k match Company Info About Us: With more than 80 years of industry expertise, STARK is the discerning designer’s go-to source for luxurious custom carpet and rugs.
