Assistant Sheet Metal Field Supervisor

Position Responsibilities

• Support daily field operations on commercial and industrial HVAC construction projects
• Aid with crew coordination, manpower planning, scheduling, and work assignments
• Collaborate with the Sheet Metal Superintendent and project management teams for successful project execution
• Verify installations against project plans, specifications, and SMACNA standards
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs to monitor quality, safety, productivity, and project progress
• Coordinate material deliveries, fabrication schedules, and field installation requirements
• Maintain communication between fabrication teams, field crews, project managers, and leadership
• Coach and mentor apprentices and technicians
• Identify and resolve project challenges while maintaining productivity and quality standards
• Participate in manpower planning and workforce development initiatives
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and craftsmanship on every project

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial or industrial sheet metal fabrication and installation experience
• Strong understanding of ductwork systems, fabrication processes, and installation practices
• Familiarity with SMACNA standards and industry best practices
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings
• Experience supporting field layouts, material planning, and project coordination
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and project support
• Desire to grow into larger field management and leadership responsibilities
• Professional attitude with a commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement
