About the role
The Assistant Service Manager oversees the day-to-day management of service operations, including maintenance schedules, team leadership, and client satisfaction. They manage accounts through the Express service arm of the business, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Lead and mentor a team of service technicians, promoting a culture rooted in safety, accountability, and operational efficiency.
- Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in service operations.
- Manage service accounts, including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and standards; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with department managers to enhance workflows and drive process improvements.
- Partner with Project Managers to develop and deliver effective training programs for field and service staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- 1-3 years of experience managing accounts in the service or construction industry.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of service operations and preventative maintenance programs.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Computer Skills must include Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
Working Conditions
The work environment is fast-paced and may be busy and noisy. The Assistant Service Manager manages several projects simultaneously and is frequently interrupted to meet the needs of team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- Frequent travel by motor vehicle.
- Extended hours on construction sites, requiring physical stamina to move around the premises.
- Ability to lift and/or move materials and tools up to 50lbs (tasks vary and are not required daily).
- Effective communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, individually or in a team environment.
- Adherence to safety protocols and ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to remote office buildings or job sites as needed.
