About the Role
The Assistant Service Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of Technicians and service administrative staff. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction while managing company profitability and applicable budget. Ensure a safe working environment through partnership with the Service Manager and Safety Director to report such issues.
Responsibilities
- Field calls regarding service on equipment on the job sites
- Schedule technicians for service calls in the field
- Look up and order parts as needed for field service repairs
- Proofread and approve all timesheets for field service technicians
- Schedule all planned maintenance for lube technicians and field service technicians
- Confirm all required documents (Service Report, Parts Requisitions, etc.) have been filled in correctly and contain all needed information on the equipment, repairs, and customer
- Provide Service Billing with all costs and documents (Service Reports, Parts Invoices, Photos, etc.) for any field service repairs that will be billed back to the customer
- Field calls nights and weekends as required (On call as needed nights and weekends)
- Ensure all service docs are turned into Service Admin for uploading
- Provide the customer with any service/inspection documentation they require
- Issue and complete Work Orders as required for all repairs made in the shop and field
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a crane mechanic, as well as 1-2 years of previous supervisory experience is desired
- Must demonstrate competency in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and LMI systems on various equipment lines
- Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite, smartphones, and tablets
- The ability to train employees on processes and procedures
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is required
- Must be able to troubleshoot minor issues over the phone and provide solutions to these issues
