Principal Responsibilities
- Effectively facilitate Bane-Welker service process by following the established procedures in ways that meet or exceed customer and company expectations.
- Accurately transfer customer service needs to the work order by professionally greeting, listening to, and communicating with the customer in a way that builds their comfort and confidence.
- Understand and follow the established repair order process through to its satisfactory and timely completion, including effective scheduling and interdepartmental coordination.
- Effectively keep customers informed and updated on the repair status of their unit.
- Verify that quality control is done and arrange for delivery back to the customer.
- Accurately estimate and document all charges on the repair order.
- Closely finish all repair orders in a timely manner to optimize cash flow in alignment with business objectives while adhering to safety policies and guidelines.
- Obtain warranty and all other required authorizations in a timely manner.
- Stay current on product information such as recalls, service bulletins and warranty guidelines.
- Optimize service profitability to help sustain and strengthen the dealership.
- Meet or exceed individual service sales goals by selling additional service/maintenance, parts, and accessories.
- Attract, lead, develop, and retain talent that results in a team that is highly aligned with Bane-Welker guiding principles and is highly productive and motivated.
- Ensure the service department has a strong interdepartmental working relationship to align the team's needs so that solutions are embraced and supported.
- Supervise technicians in getting their work completed in a timely, effective, and correct manner.
- Utilize Bane-Welker programs and promotions effectively to deepen customer relationships.
Requirements of Position
- Must have a customer focused and “be of service” attitude.
- Demonstrate organizational ability and systematic timing.
- Possess adequate knowledge of work processes and requirements for both physical labor and shop equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate the guiding principles of Bane-Welker.
- Be proficient in Outlook/Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of agricultural equipment.
- Be able to demonstrate leadership, tact, and knowledge in assigning and instructing personnel in the proper performance of mechanical operations safely and without damage to materials or persons.
- Have an outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Possess mechanical ability and familiarization with testing equipment and diagnostic procedures.
- Be experienced in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
