About the role

The Assistant Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Account Manager with all supervisory, training, and operational functions at the assigned post. This includes coordinating all aspects of the security contract, managing staff, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the coordination of all aspects of executing the security contract at the assigned location.
  • Assigns work tasks to Security Professionals and directs their work throughout the day.
  • Serves as the first direct supervisory contact for shift supervisors or Security Professionals regarding performance, operations, and department needs.
  • Supervises, motivates, coaches, and trains Security Professionals.
  • Maintains and updates Post Order manuals and other post and training information.
  • Conducts interviews and evaluates new employees, and conducts on-the-job training.
  • Manages and supervises all sub-units within the Security Department, such as fire control rooms and loading docks.
  • Generates work orders and paperwork for extra security coverage requests.
  • Responds to minor incidents and ensures appropriate action is taken.
  • Identifies and addresses personnel problems and forwards them to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Makes recommendations for counseling and/or disciplinary action, including termination.
  • Communicates with clients and maintains positive relationships through frequent contact.
  • Occasionally performs Security Professional duties as needed, but does not exceed 50% of time in any given workweek.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three (3) – five (5) years of professional-level experience required.
  • Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, and/or military required.
  • Valid state Guard License or application for one prior to employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record, and proper insurance.
  • Energetic and focused personality with the ability to take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and manage deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation, ability to resolve client issues professionally, and de-escalate situations.
  • Professional, articulate communication skills and ability to write effective reports.
  • Available to work outside normal shift schedules and accessible by phone or pager 24/7 for emergency response.

Qualifications

  • College education or business classes preferred.
  • Experience in scheduling, operations, or other security-related functions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and email.

Pay

$67,000 per year, depending on experience.

Schedule

Flexible schedule, with occasional overtime as needed.
