About the role
Provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for assisting with the operation of the Seafood Department. Assists the Seafood Manager with budgeting and financial aspects of the seafood department. Oversees clerks within the department and monitors for proper merchandising, rotation, and inventory levels of product to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all customer orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Consistently provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service at all times.
- Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers upon fulfilling requests.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the seafood department, including product merchandising, preparation, arrangements, displays, and inventory levels.
- Assist with ordering all seafood product merchandise and supplies; maintain product ordering in the absence of the seafood manager.
- Assist the seafood manager with department record keeping (e.g., financial aspects, payroll, wrap).
- Ensure a high level of customer service and courtesy, including accuracy of special orders such as shrimp platters.
- Set seafood ice display to corporate standards.
- Ensure all associates adhere to company and state sanitation procedures and regulations.
- Assist the Seafood Manager with training and scheduling of new associates within the seafood department.
- Read daily email communications from Seafood Merchandising and communicate/implement those directions.
- Perform suggestive selling, sampling, and PA announcements.
- Learn and maintain the computer-generated ordering system.
- Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
- Satisfactory performance reviews.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6–12 months of related experience.
