Assistant Sales Manager

About the role

Directly supervise and coordinate activities of the hourly sales team members. In addition, will perform duties such as administrative support, handling issues and other duties that assist in facilitating the overall performance of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop direct reports; Conduct call observations to deliver in-the-moment coaching and training.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with sales team and document individual development plans.
  • Complete the standard new-hire training alongside other Account Managers, including hands-on experience with the full sales process; cold calling, opening new accounts, and day-to-day functions performed by AMs.
  • Maintain recruiting, coaching, and performance monitoring of the sales team members.
  • Train new salespeople to ensure success; train and ensure adherence to sales process.
  • Manage day-to-day performance of all sales team members and assist SM with annual evaluations.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) one evening per week, providing approvals and cross-office manager support as needed.
  • Answer sales team members’ questions relating to pricing, quantity, policies, etc.
  • Monitor effectiveness and suggest new ideas i.e. sales promotion activities, such as pre-books, p.m.'s etc.
  • Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications.
  • Oversee the attendance of account managers and coordination of all requested time off (PTO, EIB, FMLA), and the monitoring of overtime.
  • Embody company culture and maintain a high sales associate engagement.
  • Function as liaison between the account manager’s questions and other departments (i.e. procurement, compliance, credit collections) so that the account manager can focus on selling.
