Assistant RN Director- Med/Surg/ICU

About the role

The Assistant Director has multiple roles and functions, including caregiver, decision maker, client advocate, manager, rehabilitator, comforter, communicator, and teacher. Responsibilities include assessment of the patient's nursing needs, initiation of the plan of nursing actions, implementation of the plan, and evaluation of the process using the nursing process. The Assistant Director promotes the dignity and quality of nursing care provided to the patient and assists the Director with administrative duties upon request.

Responsible for collaborating with the nursing staff and other disciplines to assist each patient in obtaining their desired goal by ensuring implementation of appropriate processes and plans of care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient nursing needs
• Initiate, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans
• Promote dignity and quality of nursing care
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other disciplines
• Assist the Director with administrative duties
• Attend all mandatory meetings

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• Currently registered in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
• Current CPR certification, ACLS, and NRP

Skills & Experience

• Two years of specialized clinical experience preferred
• Ability to provide direct and supervise patient care
• Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and management skills
