About the role
The Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the management and administration of food and beverage operations in a fast-paced, high-volume, casual dining environment at the assigned restaurant. This position will proactively monitor guest service and hospitality standards to AAA 4 & 5 Diamond/Mobil star levels.
Job Duties
- Provide hands-on leadership on the floor, monitoring service, guest satisfaction, and the correct flow of service in the restaurant.
- Participate in the Manager on Duty (M.O.D.) program.
- Interview, hire, train, schedule, and motivate staff.
- Ensure staff is knowledgeable about all products available to our guests and can effectively sell them.
- Oversee dining reservations.
- Conduct effective daily pre-service lineups and provide staff with relevant information that will best allow them to deliver the best possible experience to our guests.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with forecasting, scheduling, and controlling labor and expenses while ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and F&B Director to discuss menus, service, marketing strategies, and guest comments/concerns, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure that the staff is being provided with the necessary tools that will help them succeed in delivering excellent service to our guests within the parameters of the budget.
- Complete all payroll and revenue reports as required on their shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Industry Experience - Full-Service Restaurant
- 18 years of age or older.
- Completion of high school or GED
- Post-Employment - ServSafe Allergen, ServSafe Manager, and RAMP Certifications. Must obtain certifications as a condition of continued employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service.
- The ability to prepare staff schedules in a unionized environment allows for appropriate service while controlling labor costs and overtime.
- The ability to understand all menu items offered with an expert knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixology.
- Operate the department under the laws set forth by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
- The ability to use a computer system for Point of Sale (guest check: ordering, printing, and closing) as well as shift reports.

Schedule
