La Farm Bakery is a local, authentic European bread bakery with a passion for quality and tradition. Our loaves are hand-crafted daily in a variety of flavors, shapes, and sizes, with the entire production process occurring on-site. We’ve been recognized as one of the leading bakeries in the U.S., and our owner and Master Baker, Lionel, has been a James Beard Foundation Awards semi-finalist for Outstanding Baker. Our café menu includes breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner options, often drawing lines out our doors.

The physical setting includes a bakery, casual dining restaurant, and coffee shop.

About the Role

This is a 6-week training position. Upon completion, you may qualify for roles such as Store Manager, Café Manager, or Assistant General Manager. The role focuses on developing and coaching managers and leaders while ensuring operational excellence in a high-standard environment.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and develop supervisors to align with La Farm’s systems and values.
• Promote a positive work environment that encourages engagement, motivation, and productivity.
• Manage retail and café staff, including setting goals, expectations, and follow-up.
• Partner with HR to address people and compliance issues.
• Embody and communicate La Farm’s values: Exceed Customer Expectations, Quality, Dignity, Community, Learning, Teaching, and Innovation.
• Develop new menu items, ensure product freshness, track innovations and trends, and perform competitive analysis.
• Increase sales to meet and exceed company goals through merchandising, promotions, marketing, and signage.
• Achieve sales, food cost, and expense objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Passion for developing and coaching managers and leaders.
• Proven skills in systems training and management compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 4–6 years of food service leadership experience.
• Bakery experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical ability and math proficiency to monitor daily operations.
• Ability to solve business-related problems quickly and efficiently.
• Passion for quality and exceptional organizational skills (detail-oriented, goal-oriented, follow-through).
• Great relationship-building skills and a positive demeanor.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, primarily day shift.
• Weekend availability required.
• Shift duration: 9–10 hours.
• Weekly schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends.
