Assistant Resident Engineer
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coincide and communicate with various project stakeholders to ensure project success
- Show composure and diplomatic problem-solving skills
- Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
- Perform general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction
- Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities
- Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules
- Maintain progress of contractor’s work
- Manage various reports
- Lead inspection team
- Obtain a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Have 4+ years of experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
- Hold certifications such as IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
- Gain experience in transportation design, transit, and utility projects
- Show coachability and a positive attitude
- Be comfortable taking initiative and making decisions independently

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS
PAY
Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
