About the role
Assist the Ranch Manager in overseeing all ranch activities and functions related to fryers and fryer ranch operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in directing the grow-out of fryers, including ranch setup, brooding, temperature control, ventilation, mortality management, vaccinations, and medications to maintain optimal conditions for quality.
- Maintain ranch facilities, including appearance, coordinating with the maintenance department for needed materials and service calls.
- Enforce strict sanitation procedures and monitor bird health; report abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor.
- Respond to emergencies affecting the chickens, day or night.
- Assist in managing and controlling ranch production costs, including labor, fuel, supplies, utilities, medications, and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of ranch activities, such as feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy consumption.
- Assist in training and delegating duties to ranch personnel.
- Adhere to and enforce company safety, animal welfare, and disease prevention guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Pay
- Base hourly wage.
- Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00 PM and 11:59 PM.
- Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00 AM and 4:59 AM.
Qualifications
- Completion of the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Supervisory and leadership skills.
- Good mathematical and organizational skills.
- Basic English proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to move and lift 50 pounds.
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Willingness and ability to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
- Ability to work as scheduled, including overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to follow and enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies for all personnel on the ranch.
- Ability to work at other ranches or complexes as needed.
