About the role

The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for providing clients with top-tier customer service and excellence in management services. This position involves applying experience and confidence to new and unusual situations and supporting the property management portfolio team.

Responsibilities

  • State Certification or holds a full License
  • Technologically proficient
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Local area knowledge
  • Computer proficiency—Microsoft Office
  • Managing Referrals across Departments
  • Familiarity with:
    • Federal and Fair Housing
    • Residential Tenancies Act - ORS Chapter 90
    • Rent Control and Renter Relocation Requirements specific to Oregon and the City of Portland
    • Anti-Discrimination Act
    • Trade Practices and Fair Trading Acts

Requirements

  • Is highly organized with excellent time management
  • Displays exceptional people skills with a customer service focus
  • Has excellent dispute resolution skills with a passion for positive outcomes
  • Has a proactive approach to systems and procedures
  • Has a prolific work ethic and close attention to detail
  • Has an understanding of the importance of the team and the individual’s place in it

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of property management experience
  • Experience with tenancy laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
