Assistant Property Manager
Description
Peabody Properties is hiring an Assistant Property Manager for its property management team at a community in Beverly, MA. The position requires knowledge of all site operations including rent collection, work order processing, leasing, budgeting, program compliance, and resident relations.
Functions of the Position
- Deals with resident problems and lease violations and contacts the Property Manager for interaction.
- Records and documents resident issues for the resident file.
- Accepts work orders from residents and assigns them to the Service Manager for completion, reviews their completion, and records them in the work order log.
- If necessary, completes bookkeeping tasks for the property, including posting resident receivables, government subsidy payments, rent rolls, bank deposits, and balancing books according to Peabody Accounting Procedures.
- In the absence of the Property Manager, informs the VP/Senior Property Manager of potential or actual issues related to physical, financial, or resident-related matters.
- Prepares a weekly delinquency report to the Property Manager.
- Answers incoming calls and deals with residents and vendors professionally.
- Provides security deposit balance and payment information at move-out time and maintains a tickler file for security deposit interest payments.
- Maintains resident files according to Company and regulatory requirements.
- Affords assistance and prepares late rental payment lists.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years related property management experience, providing clerical and administrative support.
- Extensive knowledge of OneSite, proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong communication, organizational, writing, and computer skills.
Compensation and Benefits
Peabody Properties offers a starting salary of $28.85/hr. - $31.25/hr., dependent on experience, location, property size, and budget.
