About the role

The Assistant Property Manager supports the operations and financial responsibilities of the assigned portfolio at Avison Young, a global commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm. Reporting to the Property Manager, Director/Assoc Director, or Senior Property Manager, this role involves assisting with tenant relations, vendor coordination, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and assists with the operations and financial responsibilities of the portfolio.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with tenants to quickly resolve issues and improve tenant satisfaction.
  • Coordinates with Property Management and Building Staff Teams to address tenant needs.
  • Selects and oversees vendor services, prepares RFPs and service agreements, and monitors vendor performance.
  • Schedules and facilitates maintenance with vendors and tenants.
  • Maintains property inspections, recommends improvements, and ensures compliance with safety standards.
  • Manages certificates of insurance and tracks pertinent information for vendors and tenants.
  • Prepares correspondence and documents for tenants and vendors.
  • Ensures compliance with lease terms and building emergency response plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, real estate, or finance.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial terms and principles, and ability to analyze and make complex financial decisions.
  • Understanding of lease terms and contract language to enforce tenant and vendor requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe.
  • Real Estate Salesperson License is a plus.
  • Yardi experience preferred.
