About the role
The Assistant Property Manager supports the operations and financial responsibilities of the assigned portfolio at Avison Young, a global commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm. Reporting to the Property Manager, Director/Assoc Director, or Senior Property Manager, this role involves assisting with tenant relations, vendor coordination, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Supports and assists with the operations and financial responsibilities of the portfolio.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with tenants to quickly resolve issues and improve tenant satisfaction.
- Coordinates with Property Management and Building Staff Teams to address tenant needs.
- Selects and oversees vendor services, prepares RFPs and service agreements, and monitors vendor performance.
- Schedules and facilitates maintenance with vendors and tenants.
- Maintains property inspections, recommends improvements, and ensures compliance with safety standards.
- Manages certificates of insurance and tracks pertinent information for vendors and tenants.
- Prepares correspondence and documents for tenants and vendors.
- Ensures compliance with lease terms and building emergency response plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, real estate, or finance.
- Minimum of three years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of financial terms and principles, and ability to analyze and make complex financial decisions.
- Understanding of lease terms and contract language to enforce tenant and vendor requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe.
- Real Estate Salesperson License is a plus.
- Yardi experience preferred.
