Key Responsibilities
- Execution & Communication
- Reliable and follow through on commitments
- Drive daily progress and meet schedule milestones
- Prepare, engage, and contribute in daily huddles and subcontractor meetings
- Respond to all communications within 24 hours
- Build positive relationships with trade partners, inspectors, and project stakeholders
- Communicate field conditions, progress, and issues clearly and proactively
- LEAN Construction Implementation
- Contribute to a continuous improvement culture
- Flag potential issues early during drawing scrubs
- Confirm design adherence and meet quality expectations through quality control walks
- Track commitments and help build 3-week look-ahead schedules
- Implement and maintain the 6S System
- Identify and resolve constraints through visual management tools
- Safety Leadership
- Champion the commitment to safety
- Lead weekly safety meetings
- Collaborate with the safety team on audits, toolbox talks, and best practices
- Maintain site-specific safety plans and ensure 100% PPE compliance
- Reinforce a culture where everyone has "Stop Work" authority for safety concerns
- Project Support & Development
- Study and understand contract documents, specifications, and addenda
- Coordinate with trade partners on field activities, logistics, and sequencing
- Maintain as-built drawings in Procore
- Support quality control through the 3-stage verification process
- Coordinate inspections with precision and preparation
- Take ownership of assigned scopes or project areas with increasing independence
- Self-starter who sees what needs to be done and does it without waiting to be asked
- Earns the trust of the Superintendent, trade partners, and clients through reliability and follow-through
- Keeps a job site clean, organized, and reflective of RGGC standards
- Asks smart questions, takes detailed notes, and doesn’t repeat mistakes
- Shows leadership potential and work ethic to grow into a Superintendent role at RGGC
- 2+ years of field experience in commercial construction
- Experience in leadership roles
- Ability to read drawings
- OSHA certifications (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Exposure to or interest in historic renovation and ground-up construction
- Previous experience in carpentry or hands-on building knowledge (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with LEAN construction practices or genuine eagerness to learn
- Individual sense of urgency to drive progress
- Ownership mentality — treat the jobsite like it's yours
