About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects within a Higher Education portfolio in Cambridge, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional to gain exposure to complex projects while working alongside experienced Project Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in the execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and document management.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Review project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project reports.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones while helping identify and resolve issues.
  • Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other project management tools to maintain project records and reporting.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain strong communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Support multiple Higher Education projects, primarily serving a major university account in Cambridge, MA.
  • Report directly to Project Managers and work closely with the broader project team.
  • Work on-site in Cambridge, MA.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience with a General Contractor, Construction Manager, Owner's Project Manager, or similar construction organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
  • Experience supporting construction projects through multiple phases of development.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to commute daily to Cambridge, MA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher Education project experience.
  • Experience working within occupied campus environments.
  • Previous exposure to owner's project management or consulting services.
  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

$80,000 - $95,000 base salary + annual bonus opportunity (typically around 10%).
