Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years’ experience working in heavy highway construction preferred
- 2+ years’ in an Assistant Project Manager role and/or Project Engineer role
- Experience in a construction management software; HCSS, Primavera, P6 Scheduling experience a plus
- Strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assigned
- Must develop positive working relationships with owners and project engineers as well as local government offices
- Demonstrated ability to manage people, budget, schedule, and quality of work at multiple construction sites
- Must be competent to perform complete and accurate project take-offs and estimates
- Willing and able to travel up to 30%

About the Role
Independence Excavating is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist in the day-to-day project administrative and management needs. The position includes assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent with purchase orders, subcontracts, RFI’s, submittals, job costs and projections. This position will grow into a Project Management role in the future.
