About the role

HDR is looking for an Assistant Project Manager with a focus on client development and delivery of datacenter projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in successfully delivering various datacenter and mission-critical projects, from upfront planning and pre-design through detail design, construction support, and commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest-growing, and most comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media, and Telecom) practices in the industry.

While the primary focus is on managing and delivering projects, the successful candidate must also possess the drive, experience, and charisma to develop and secure work from a robust global client base, expanding HDR’s reputation in these markets. This individual will manage multidisciplinary design teams from project conception to completion, working closely with Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers and our global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), under the supervision of a Project Manager.
  • Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project.
  • Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule.
  • Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
  • Healthcare, Data Center, Science and Technology, and/or Mission Critical facilities experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • PMP certification.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Field, AutoDesk Construction Cloud, and Bluebeam.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with Google communication products (gDrive, Chat, Docs, Sheets, and Slides).
  • Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams of Architects, Engineers, and Designers.
  • Availability to travel to regional sites as needed.
  • Preference for candidates with PE licensure.

Pay

Expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. For New York, NY: $110,000 - $163,750.

Schedule

Full-time, regular employee status.
