Assistant Project Manager - Construction - Southport

About the role

Join a reputable custom home builder in Southport. Work alongside owners who are hands-on and fully involved. The company operates in the building and construction industry in Fairfield County.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project schedules, materials, and site activities to keep construction work on track
• Track project documents, including plans, drawings, and change information, so teams have current details
• Communicate with contractors, vendors, and internal project contacts to address day-to-day needs
• Help monitor project progress and flag schedule or coordination issues for review
• Support the preparation of project updates, meeting notes, and action items
• Review incoming project information and organize records for clear follow-up
• Coordinate site visits and meetings to help maintain alignment across project activities

Requirements

• Experience with custom homes, luxury residential, or high-end renovations
• 2–5 years of construction experience, ideally with a GC, custom builder, or architect
• Strong understanding of plans, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Comfortable working in the field and coordinating with supers and subcontractors
• Strong organization and communication skills with attention to detail
• Hands-on, team-first mentality and comfortable working closely with ownership

Pay

Salary of $75,000 to $105,000.
