Opportunity

New England Lab is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to handle the growing project list in the Carolinas area, based out of Durham, NC. This position requires a focused, organized individual who excels at customer service and can help produce a quality project that includes on-time installation and maintains or improves profit.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Aid the Project Manager with office work, communications, and organization
  • Build NEL’s reputation as the preferred laboratory furniture & equipment firm
  • Attend project turnover meetings to ensure accurate, timely, and clear communication
  • Communicate with the project team to maintain contract status
  • Organize project material in the warehouse, manage incoming and outgoing materials, and support paperwork
  • Handle client concerns and work out solutions with the Project Manager and clients
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department for buyout options and provide feedback to the Project Manager
  • Multi-task, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively
  • Use Bluebeam and Procore if applicable
  • Manage job completion system and track job notes and correspondence

Skills & Competencies

  • 1-3 years’ experience in construction - admin/organization, labor, project management or related fields
  • 4-year college degree preferred, HS Diploma required
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, email, internet, and basic office infrastructure
  • Understanding of spatial relationships/design
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. using proper lifting techniques
  • Safe, clean driving record (employment contingent on background check)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Professional communication and customer service
  • Experience with estimating, finance/accounting, and Timberline (optional)
