About CAMBA

CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners working together to build an inclusive New York City where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. The organization offers more than 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. CAMBA reaches over 72,000 individuals and families each year at 100 locations, including 10,000 youth. Clients are a diverse cross‑section of New Yorkers—from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways—with more than half being immigrants and refugees. Over 85 % of families served live in poverty.

CAMBA Housing Ventures Program

Since 1991, CAMBA has addressed New York City’s housing crisis through permanent affordable and supportive housing, homelessness prevention, housing relocation, and emergency and transitional housing. In 2005, CAMBA created the affiliated non‑profit affordable housing development corporation CAMBA Housing Ventures, Inc. (CHV) to deliver diverse, thriving communities with high‑quality, energy‑efficient affordable housing. CHV’s portfolio includes acquisition, new construction, rehabilitation, and preservation projects throughout the city.
