Assistant Project Manager

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll lead exciting engineering projects from start to finish, driving strategy, managing resources, coordinating stakeholders, and navigating challenges with confidence. You'll be empowered to build client partnerships and deliver innovative solutions that keep projects moving forward and clients coming back.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily monitoring and progress of current and upcoming projects.
• Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates on project timelines, needs, and status.
• Monitor testing to ensure it is completed based on project plans and specifications; provide technical guidance and work direction.
• Under direct supervision, manage a small project or one phase of a large project to gain additional project management experience.
• Implement an established project plan.
• Identify, resolve, or escalate operational problems and minimize delays.
• Analyze project requirements, write reports, and complete deliverables.
• Monitor and coordinate the activities of outside contractors to ensure integration into the project and satisfactory service standards.
• Participate in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for clients.
• Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete assigned project phases; monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to meet targets.
• Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate project status within and beyond the project team.
• Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
• Submit project deliverables to clients as per contract scope and schedule.
• Coordinate with Terracon Authorized Project Reviewers (APRs) to ensure appropriate oversight and sufficient time for reviews of critical junctures.
• Develop an understanding of project-related risk, including familiarity with potential issues and company risk policies.
• Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring adherence to safety rules and guidelines; promote pre-task planning for all projects.
• Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects; engage APRs at project onset.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology with a minimum of 2 years’ related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 6 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.

Pay

Estimated salary range: $71,060.00 - $90,640.00, commensurate with experience.
