About the role
Step into leadership as an Assistant Project Manager at BCCI, where you'll manage small- to mid-sized projects while collaborating with a Project Manager on larger, more complex builds. This hands-on experience will give you valuable insight into high-level project management.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, distribute, and ensure timely document return for all documents pertaining to the project to ensure procedural and contractual compliance both internally and externally.
- Manage subcontractor performance in conjunction with Field Operations and take action to resolve performance issues.
- Prepare, edit, and distribute required project documentation for construction meetings and communication in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review and have a thorough understanding of project drawings and subcontractor scope, inclusive of bulletins and owner scope changes.
- Prepare Potential Change Order and Change Order Requests for review and approval by the Project Manager.
- Cook up with the project team to ensure a timely project closeout.
- Cook up with internal and external project team members to monitor the project schedule and ensure deadlines are met.
- Update schedule and communicate changes as necessary and as assigned.
- Assume the lead role on the project and exercise project management responsibilities and tasks as required to meet client project goals.
- Aid in coaching, mentoring, and training of Project Engineers and new Assistant Project Managers.
- Be familiar with, adhere to, and model company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the company's culture, mission, and values through thought leadership and actions.
Qualifications
- College degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, and/or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- A certificate in Construction Management is required in the absence of a college degree and should supplement a degree in business administration or liberal arts.
- Working knowledge of construction documentation and pricing.
- Working knowledge of company software programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, and CMiC.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to independently organize work assignments and meet critical deadlines.
- 2-4 years’ experience in the construction industry.
