JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aid the project team in managing internal and external engineering teams, including multi-trade engineering coordination and shop drawing review.
- Estimate, budget, and write proposals.
- Understand contracts and contractual scopes.
- Plan and schedule, including short-term interval scheduling of various crafts.
- Manage materials, equipment, tools, information, and subcontractors on each job.
- Procure materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Control costs (internal accounting system, change orders, etc.).
- Ensure quality and performance.
- Communicate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
- Support start-up, commissioning, and owner training.
- Assist the project team in managing field crews.
- Promote safety awareness, training, and promotion.
- Administer warranties.
- Market and promote the entire company.
- Practice and promote company values and operational procedures.
- Mentor and develop co-ops.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or building construction; or equivalent business management degree with a focus on construction or engineering and 1-2 years of project management experience overseeing technicians working with mechanical systems; or a minimum of 5+ years of internal experience working with plumbing, piping, or HVAC systems in the office or the field.

- Demonstrated successful experience in the construction industry.
- Two years of experience managing mechanical work.
- Strong business acumen (entrepreneurship counts).
- Knowledge of account management (managing multiple customers).
- Leadership exposure (conferences, training, etc.).
- Work involves moderate exposure to elements like hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
- The work environment involves exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.
