About the role

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will assist project managers on a variety of projects of varying complexity and/or manage smaller and less complex projects independently. This position acts as coordinator and liaison to clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain document control, manage databases, and coordinate and track project activities and communications to ensure project goals are met within timeframe and budget.
  • Assist global practice and engineering disciplines with Design-only and/or EPC projects.
  • Support the Project Management team in RFP package development, bid and selection processes, and detailed scope-of-work documents for downstream contracts.
  • Manage contractors’ submittals, requests for information, supplemental design instructions, and site drawing logs.
  • Verify contractor compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and material management programs.
  • Execute contracts, including change order management, field change directives, invoice approval, and schedule management.
  • Assist with project controls: cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure, project setup/closeout in accounting systems, and field progress tracking.
  • Develop internal and external reports: project budgeting, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and status reports for stakeholders.
  • Participate in project risk reviews and consult with Legal as required.
  • Close out contract and project documentation.
  • Adhere to client safety programs, trainings, and policies; promote and manage safety and health performance of team members and subcontractors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited program.
  • 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work overtime on short notice.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to collaborate with owners, contractors, project managers, engineers, and designers in a multi-discipline team to resolve design or drawing issues.
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
