Assistant Project Manager
About the role
This apprentice-based position focuses on training for managing commercial projects from inception to closure. The Assistant Project Manager operates under the direct supervision of the Project Management Manager and supports the flow of material from planning through completion of smaller and less technical projects. Duties include maintaining schedules, project documentation, and databases; coordinating with teams and stakeholders; monitoring budgets and timelines; and ensuring deliverables meet specifications and client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and maintaining project documentation (plans, reports, schedules) and files.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
- Coordinate with project team members and external stakeholders to ensure timely task completion.
- Monitor project timelines and milestones; report deviations or issues to the Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing and tracking project budgets and expenses.
- Facilitate communication within the project team and with external stakeholders.
- Draft and distribute project-related communications (emails, notices, updates).
- Serve as a point of contact for project inquiries and provide requested information.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Assist in developing and implementing project processes and procedures.
- Collect, compile, and analyze project data to support decision-making and reporting.
- Prepare regular status reports and presentations for project updates.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business administration, project management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a project support or administrative role preferred.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Pay
Pay range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour. Individual compensation is determined based on job-related skills and qualifications, education, relevant experience, work location, internal equity considerations, and overall responsibilities of the position.
Schedule
Occasional travel may be required to perform job duties.
