Assistant Program Director-Youth On Fire

About the Role

Under the direction of the Program Director, assist in planning and managing operations and staff within the Youth On Fire program in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise direct care supervisors and indirectly their staff.
  • Provide guidance and feedback for employee development and productivity.
  • Participate in performance evaluation, recognition, and improvement plans.
  • Participate in the selection and termination of program staff.
  • Promote a positive and involved work environment.
  • Hire and supervise volunteers and interns.
  • Maintain community partnerships and serve as liaison for Y2Y and First Parish Church.
  • Oversee part-time floor staff and HMIS data quality control & reports.
  • Assist the Food & Nutrition Program (includes meal prep, cooking, inventory, purchasing, cleaning, permitting/licensing, and certifications).
  • Manage a small case management caseload.
  • Review, implement, and enforce program policies and procedures, including program evaluation standards and Quality Assurance actions.
  • Foster a work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Promote quality programs, effective communication, positive client outcomes, and employee commitment.
  • Oversee service, education, and treatment plans for clients and their families.
  • Coordinate with agency personnel to ensure quality client services.
  • Manage work assignments, client behaviors, and participate in crisis prevention and intervention.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the annual operational budget for the program.
  • Monitor performance against approved budget allocations and investigate variances.
  • Represent the Program/Agency at internal and external meetings in the absence of the Program Director.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, community agencies, state and local agencies, program employees, clients, and families.
  • Assist the Program Director in assessing, developing, and implementing program services tailored to client and family needs.
  • Coordinate and integrate services, and plan improvements based on client and family needs.
  • Participate in the intake and discharge process and maintain the Program census.
  • May participate in licensing and accreditation processes to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Oversee notifications and paperwork for the Department of Social Services and other relevant agencies.
  • Review critical incident reports for quality and develop required reports, such as the monthly program update.
  • Provide feedback to staff and the Agency.

Requirements

  • Five years of program experience, including supervision.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, and internal equity relative to other employees in similar roles.
